Just one?

What's your take on your life-partner?

Are you on the side of the fence where you believe that you have a soul-mate? Just one man/woman only made just for you? Or are you on the other side where you believe that there are a few men/women out there for you?

I started out believing that there's one only for me. My soulmate.. My one true love.. My other half who when joined together with me makes me one whole.. The romantic notion of being swept off my feet by my knight in shining armor.

In time by being more 'experienced' and matured (pre-Mister & Missus era), I started leaning on the other side of a few out there. Now in the Mister & Missus era, I'm glad that my notion has changed. I'm glad that my life and feelings are not limited by romanticism shown to us in vivid colours by television (movies, regular tv, 'made-up' reality tv..) and books.

Opposites attract. Humans, as creatures of habit, don't like changes and differences but we cannot deny the fact that opposites attract.. It takes work to make a relationship successful. Lots of work, time and effort.

ck is not my 'one'. No one can be.. Because there's no such thing! (to me anyways). Being in a relationship with him can be very trying at times but I won't trade it or him for anything else. Embarking on this journey of marriage with him has scared me numerous times. I even contemplated leaving him at the altar at one point! (pre-Mister & Missus era of course)

Our marriage vows are more than just words. They are our vows.. our promise to each other.

I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage.

He's not the 'one' but he's the one I love and promised before him, God, our families and friends to have til death do us part.. Will we get our happy ending? Definitely! It's not just me working for the success of our relationship. The best part is, he's in it together with me. Together we'll rock each other's world.
