away from home

Of what fun! Getting to fly on an aeroplane.. Went off to Singapore on work related terms for 6 days. 6 days! Now how much fun does that sound to you?? 6 days worth of hanging out with friends, listening to bands, seeing new environments, shopping, eating, drinking... the works! Just fabulous..

Until, for some reason, I manage to get awfully sick on the 2nd day. This is MAJOR sick. Not just a plain ol' little cough or flu.. Let me put it this way. If I was home, I would be stuck in bed like so..

Didn't manage to see a doctor until I got back home. To make things worse, I was on the trip alone (Not entirely alone. Irene went along with me but we stayed in different places. Thank goodness.. Might have gotten her sick too!).

Ultimately, no ck. No manja! No one to hug, care or look out for me.. I missed him terribly. It's bad enough that I was on the trip without him, it felt worse being sick on the trip. I may sound really hopeless but we see each other every day and have been doing so from the day we went started dating.. That's 5 years! We've been away from each other only three other times. Me away on a trip with my sis. Him away to Singapore with his family and KL ( I think) for work. Those times didn't feel as trying as this time round though..

So much for a fun-filled trip! The illness made me feel COLD wherever I went regardless out in the sun or air-conditioned.. No appetite, high fever, sore throat, aching muscles, woozy. Still managed to trudge my way through many shops with Irene. (Poor girl, I think I was truly cramping her shopping style! hehe.. Stop here. Rest here. Sit some more..) I was really pushing myself to get out each day and get things done. Some of my highlights were observing Kindermusik classes and meeting up with the director to get some ideas to expand the business. Tasting black sesame ice cream, eating beef tongue, getting to just chat with the girls, tease SY and Shin whenever the opportunity arises and meeting Xander (who although lazy, is a really ladies man and kissed my arm pit! To the embarrassment of Shin and SY, he showed us how 'man' he was. hahaha!)

Finally met a little cousin of mine (Timothy). That 10 yr old boy TALKS! Are all Singaporean boys like that?? He seems to give me that impression. Yak yak yak.. with smart comebacks too. All I can say, like father, like son. Hehe..

Got to go Singapore again! in 3 months time.. This time, please God, help me keep healthy... ck, you're coming whether you get leave or not! I don't care.. I'm not going alone.
